Here’s how etch&ethos came to be

Hello, hello...there's a new kid on the block (or should we say the shower caddy!). We want to introduce you to etch&ethos, a new natural, ethical and sustainable brand from family-owned Australian business, Ego Pharmaceuticals.

Our passion for sustainability runs deep at Ego Pharmaceuticals and is the driving force behind how and why etch&ethos came to be. As a business, we're constantly working towards reducing our imprint on the planet and from a product point of view, where better to start than with your daily essentials in the bathroom?

"But why the bathroom?", we hear you ask. Well did you know that the bathroom generates the most amount of plastic waste behind the kitchen? And that when it comes to soaps, lotions and hair products, they often come in pump packs where the pump component isn't recyclable? Once we learned this, we knew that it was time to start work on a range of natural products in sustainable, recyclable packaging with science guiding the approach.

Enter etch&ethos

Years in the making (we are perfectionists, after all!), and with the brightest minds in our Research & Development, Brand Marketing, Sustainability and Packaging teams all pitching in, etch&ethos skincare was born.

The 'etch' in our name is a constant reminder of our mission to reduce or make a smaller mark on the planet, '&' is all about naturally changing and growing as we look towards the future, and 'ethos' is because every decision we make is underpinned by the ethics and values that we hold dear at Ego Pharmaceuticals.

etch&ethos is launching with two daily essentials, the Hydrating Body Wash and Nourishing Body Lotion, both available in a 300mL pump pack and 1L refill, in Summer Citrus and Botanical Bloom scents.

Containing 94% naturally derived ingredients^, all etch&ethos washes, lotions, and refills are made and packaged right here in Melbourne, Australia with 50% recycled materials.
Oh and the part that makes us really excited? etch&ethos will recycle one milk bottle for every bottle we make, helping to divert 191,000 milk bottles from landfills per year.
